The Debut

 Of the boots!!
Aren't they pretty?? Yesterday was my first time wearing them, and I chose to pair them with skinny jeans and a batwing top to balance out the proportions. Add a scarf for the snuggly, warmth factor, and I was good to go! I wore this outfit to see the new Spiderman movie with my baby brother (who is 17 now! Not a baby anymore. wahh, that makes me feel old!) and for once I actually wasn't cold in the theater! But I was walking around in stores and stuff too all day, and my feet were so happy.
I am absolutely loving the cooler weather we're having. I didn't think I'd get a chance to pull my boots out for another month at least, but yesterday was the perfect temp for their first appearance. It has seemed like every season this year has arrived at least a month early, kinda strange. But fall is my favorite, so I absolutely don't mind if it shows up early and sticks around a while longer!
I have lots more ideas for outfits to pair with my riding boots- shirtdresses and skirts with tights, jeans and sweaters- so expect to see a lot of them in the future!! Do you have any riding boot outfit combos that I can steal borrow? =)

Easy Breezy

Not to share tmi or anything, but I was feeling a little bloaty yesterday, so this was the perfect dress to be comfortable, and still look put together. And the outfit managed to fit into the Every Body, Every Wear criteria this month, so I'm linking up with them! This dress is just a simple maxi dress, soft cotton, and soooo comfy. I think the scarf elevated the look, and the plain jewelry finished it perfectly. This summer, I've been all about comfy casual. What's your go-to comfy casual outfit? Also, I've been wearing my bangs pinned back just about every day, because they're at a super awkward length and I'm leaning towards letting them grow out completely rather than getting them trimmed. And I've had bangs since about age 14 when I started wearing contacts and my face felt empty without glasses, so it will be a transition!
And the picture below is one reason why I haven't posted in a while- my hubs and I ran away to the lake for several days and had an amazingly relaxing time. Canoeing at sunset one day, we saw 3 deer and 2 loons! It was a perfect way to let some stresses melt away.

This last picture is a nod to the title, which obviously sounds like the Cover Girl slogan. I found this picture on pinterest, and literally laughed out loud, so I'm sharing!

I'm On a Boat! (I wish)

Tank: Old Navy, Shorts: Tommy Hilfiger, Boat Shoes: Roxy via DSW

So it's been hot here. Reeeally hot. Shorts and a tank top are maybe kind of a cheater outfit, but with a tank and shorts as cute as these, I didn't think anyone would mind. I was out running errands for the afternoon, and kept cool with the lightweight cotton fabrics. And I love my new boat shoes!! They are so much comfier and more interesting than just a plain pair of flip flops. Any of my boat-owning friends want to invite me out for a sail now?

I'm Melting...

This weather is craaaaazy! I do still live in MN, right?? Cause lately it's been hard to tell. This is what I wore yesterday, when the temp reached 100. I hibernated most of the day in the AC, but then Adam and I went to meet my parents for a burger. I picked a lightweight sleeveless top, but capris because the restaurant was chilly. I also just rediscovered these shoes- tres adorable, no??
The garage sale was... not amazing. We didn't make much money, considering the amount of time we put in, but we did get rid of a few things. And I got a decent tan out of the deal. And my sister has convinced me to extend it through this weekend. We'll see...
