Some of my favorite blogger ladies (Caitlin from greaterthanrubies.net, Kendi at kendieveryday.com, and Audrey from puttingmetogether.com) have fashion challenges that they post about frequently. Cate is currently on a year sabbatical from shopping (which scares the panties off me). And they inspired me to decide I need more challenges in my own life! Nothing as radical as giving up coffee- although I have been slowly reducing my intake. I did try to go a month without clothes shopping, and I did pretty well. I realized that I have a very full closet and I can survive a long time without adding to it. So after bringing home a few summer essentials last week (new bikini, maxi skirt, and a rainbow of tank tops) I'm not going to shop in June either. I like the remix challenges that Cate is currently starting, but I'd have to put some more thought into choosing pieces before starting that. Another idea is a dress a day- wearing dresses for a month straight. I definitely have enough to choose from, I'm just nervous about activities that aren't necessarily dress-friendly. I'm just kind of toying with ideas right now and am open to suggestions!
Your challenges sound so great. I hope you find the perfect one for yourself :) The dress a day sounds pretty good actually. And I mean, you can always be like a five year old, and throw some tight shorties underneath just in case you need to take part in a relay race, or something dress unfriendly ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm still considering it... I just have a hard time limiting myself to one type or style of clothing! Call it wardrobe ADD or something. I just love the variety. I feel sorry for guys- they don't have nearly as many options, which is sad!
